If you already have a hifi that records onto MD then this is the perfect partner. The battery life, and perfect sound quality that you would expect from Sony are here and the headphones provided are much better than some of the more expensive sets out there. If you just want a player to PLAY on then you cant go wrong. No gimmicks, it just plays the MDs with amazing sound quality. Ive had mine for 10 months now and dont regret going for the bog-standard model...

now before you all start havin a go telling me that this is a low cost player just dont bother. This is my second MD player and it is really terrible! it wont play half of my minidiscs (that all play fine on my other player and my mates players), despite beiing really looked after its all scratched and worst of all sony dont want to know about it!!
In fact the only saving grace of theis player is that fact that the battery does last FOREVER.
If you want a minidisc player save a bit more cash nd buy a better one and if you do have trouble with it good luck trying to get sony to acknowledge your existence let alone DO something about the problem!
